Our Story:

Green Girls STEM Foundation is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to support and encourage kids (especially girls) to participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities, increase the number of girls and young women in STEM, so that there is an equal amount of participation in activities, increase participation in FIRST and robotics across the nation and expose kids to STEM related activities to encourage them to pursue STEM degrees and careers in the future.

The Green Girls STEM Foundation was created by the members of FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team 7190 the Green Girls. We founded the Green Girls, an all-girls team, as fourth graders. Our mission was to create an environment where girls could explore their passions free from gender stereotypes. As we grew up through the FIRST Robotics programs, we wanted to give opportunities to other underrepresented groups in STEM so we founded The GG STEM Foundation. Since all of our members have graduated we have continued our legacy of diversity and inclusion by continuing to raise money for grants and scholarships for diverse STEM students that promote diversity in their own communities.
